Marking your territory......

One of the things that most of us parents try to teach our children is the art of sharing. This is especially difficult when the child is around 2 years old............or at least it is difficult with Samuel. He started out sharing and thought that it was fun. He enjoyed being encouraged and liked the positive attention he got when caught in the act. But somewhere in the last few weeks he has discovered that no one will ask him to share if he does this one particular thing. All of his siblings squeal and back away from things and they just give him what he wants when he does it and he still gets all the attention...................................... He has mastered the art of "licking" everything! He licks his bike so no one will ride it, he licks the toys he wants so no one will play with them, he licks a spot on the sofa so no one will sit there and he licks all of the food he is given (even if he doesn't intend to finish it) so no one else will try to eat it. I guess most creatures have some way of marking their territory and this is Sammy's way.

Jack loves Katie........

Jack says that he absolutely does not like Katie. He says he doesn't like girls. Jack has not so much as acknowledged her since she was born or held her. Even when asked to help with her he says "no" even if it means he will get in trouble. But things are slowly changing..........Jack will deny it all the time but I caught this one on video. Jack was jumping and being weird just to get Katie to laugh.......................................... The video is sideways for some reason (can't figure out how to turn it, But anyway) here it is................

Today................

Today I.........................

-- cleaned out the fridge (Eve did not close the spout on the water jug and the whole gallon ran out all over the fridge........ thank goodness it was only water)

-- mopped the kitchen floor (the water also leaked out the fridge door creating a large pond)

--vacuumed the great room (Sammy deposited cereal and cheez-its all over just so mommy would step on them and make a huge crumbly mess)

--cleaned the bathroom (Abby was so kind to try to clean it herself but the soap and toothpaste was too much for her)

--put away Jack's shirts and underwear three times (Sammy loves to try them on especially the underwear)

--and I changed about 8 stinky diapers (due to a slight virus that seems to have graced our house and the two youngest babies)

All of this happened before noon and I decided to just do normal daily things for the rest of the day..................................you know......................

--the dishes
--the laundry
-- walking the baby to get her to fall asleep
--dinner
--maybe eating (somewhere in there)
--looking for passi's so nap time and bed time will happen smoothly
-- playing referee
--paying bills (online)
--and, of course, doing this quick blog for family............

Well, I know I am forgetting something ( um, spending time with Daddy(Joshua)..................alone........) but maybe that can wait until tomorrow.................hee hee!
